Train with a Friend

Two people. One coach. One shared slot.

Partner training under direct coaching at One Fitness.

Train with a Friend is One Fitness's partner programme. You and your training partner share a slot and train together under direct coaching. The commitment is shared between you, with no compromise in the coaching.

Both partners are assessed individually through the ONE ASSESS system before sessions begin. Your programme is designed for the pair, but each person's metrics and progress are tracked separately. There's no generic group programme.

The slot belongs to both of you jointly, a maximum of two clients per shared slot, in a studio that never runs more than two sessions at once.

One of you takes the quiz and books the assessment as normal. From there you can invite your training partner, who gets their own short pre-assessment, and we coordinate your shared slot together.

It isn't priced by the session. Each of you pays around 30% less than the same slot would cost on your own, at every training frequency, and the exact figure is set at the assessment once your plans are built. You'll both know precisely where you stand before you start.

A session runs for 50 minutes, the same length as any other session here, and your coach is with the two of you the whole time. This is not a class and it is not semi-private training with one coach split across four people. It is your programme and your partner's programme, run side by side, with someone watching both.

The pairing works best when you actually want to train with the other person rather than simply splitting a cost. Partners who turn up together, on time, week after week, get the accountability that makes this format work. Partners with wildly different schedules usually end up wishing they had taken their own slots.

You do not need to be at the same level of fitness or strength. Because you are assessed separately and your programmes are written separately, two people can share a slot while working at completely different loads and on different priorities.

Common questions

Do we need to be at the same fitness level?

No, and most pairs are not. You are each assessed individually through ONE ASSESS and each get your own programme. Sharing a slot means sharing the time and the coach, not the training plan.

Can three of us train together?

No. Two clients per slot is a hard limit. Beyond two, the coach stops coaching and starts supervising, which is not what you are paying for and not how this studio works.

How do we book as a pair?

One of you takes the quiz and books an assessment as normal. From there you can invite your training partner, who completes their own short pre-assessment, and we arrange a shared slot that works for both of you.

What happens if my partner stops training?

Talk to us and we will work it out. Depending on the slot and the waiting list, you can usually keep the time on your own or we can look at pairing you with someone else. You are not left stranded because someone else changed their mind.

Can my partner be a different gender?

Coaching at One Fitness is gender matched, so a pair trains with the coach who matches them. Coach Mike trains male clients and Coach Selina trains female clients. A mixed pair is something to raise with us directly so we can find the right arrangement.

Is training with a friend cheaper than training alone?

Yes. Each of you pays around 30% less than the same slot would cost you on your own, and that saving is the same whether you train three times a week or six. We do not publish per-session rates for in-person coaching, so the figure itself is set at your assessment once both plans exist, but the discount does not change with frequency.

What if only one of us can make a session?

The session still runs. Whoever turns up trains, and the usual 12 hours notice applies for the person who cannot. The slot belongs to both of you jointly, so it does not disappear because one of you is away.
